It was the most important judging day at the fair today and Team Quinte was up early and looking very confident going into the disciplinary judging round this morning.  All the team members felt they had done their best and that all their judges, who they each talked to for 20 minutes, were fair and some even friendly.  We met for lunch, a time to debrief and gear up for the afternoon's session.

Everyone met their special awards judges for a shorter time in the afternoon for only 10 minutes each and again all went smoothly.  Aaron, Theresa and Brandan have their projects all together in a row which makes chatting very easy.  Govind and Aysar are on opposite ends of the fair and so have met many new participants over these past three days.
After 8 hours of judging today the team was ready for some relaxation this evening.  Again Govind and Aysar were bending it like Beckham on the soccer field. (Check the video on the QRSTF youtube Channel)  Brandan, Aaron and Theresa opted for the movie night complete with popcorn and pop.  Their movie choice of Les Miserables was a solemn choice but did not in any way reflect their experience of today.
If anything there was a good omen today; Scott and I won the bridge building competition over all the other delegates...perhaps
some foreshadowing for what is to come for team Quinte at the awards ceremony.
We are all fine-tuning our mountain goat skills as we have to climb up and down a long, steep hill between the judging hall and our cafeteria and residence many times a day.   As well, wind gusts of over 50 km/h are not uncommon and make hairstyles rather interesting.  All in all, a great day and we are looking forward to being together as a team for our tour of southern Alberta tomorrow.

You can watch the Award’s Ceremony on Thursday. It is being streamed this year…. http://youthscience.ca/cwsf-2013-live-stream (please share this with  others please) Please go to cwsf.youthscience and look at the schedule for the correct time.

Sir Alexander Tilloch Galt
Many places in Lethbridge are named for this famous Canadian-Father of Confederation
Sir Alexander Galt and his son Elliott Torrance Galt co-founded the city of Lethbridge, Alberta in 1883, when he established a coal mine on the banks of the Oldman River in the southwest portion of the District of Alberta, Northwest Territories.
